On-the-Road Devotional:
The Glory of God’s Promise
Like the appearance of a rainbow in the clouds on a rainy day,
so was the radiance around him.
This was the appearance of the likeness of the glory of the Lord
(Ezekiel 1:28).
The day dawned clear. Small fluffy clouds appeared. They grew and grayed until the sky was gone. Then raindrops hurtled down, as I had feared, and soon erased the promise of the dawn.
How similar that is to life, when small, inconsequential problems start to grow, erasing hope. With fear and danger all around, I flee. Sharp tears begin to flow.
Across the valley, fuzzily I see a streak of rainbow shine. That’s right! My hope’s eternal, for His love has made me free! His power and grace will hold and help me cope. The flood can’t take control. I am His heir! I need not fear. His promise is still there.
Remember His promise.
