I
am a retired single woman living in Boulder, Colorado. At home I live
by, “As for me and my house, we will serve the Lord” (Joshua 24:15). I
share my house with Lady, an elderly beagle, and Dolphin, a young cat
who is sure he is actually a saber-tooth tiger.
Retired
after more than a quarter-century of teaching special needs children in
the public school system, I continue to tutor as well as volunteering
in a Christian school, helping several Chinese college students with
their English, and editing papers for friends.
A free-lance writer, I have completed the Apprentice and Journeyman courses of the Christian Writers Guild and continue to hone my craft at writing conferences such as Oregon Christian Writers Summer Conference, Colorado Christian Writers, and Writing for the Soul. I am a member of Boulder Christian Writers, a critique group.
When
the roads are clear and I’m not writing or teaching, I travel around
North America in a 30-foot Winnebago. My trips range from local weekend
jaunts to one- to two-month loops quartering the country. I generally
go alone, with Lady and Dolphin for companions. In addition, I
occasionally vacation with friends, either sharing my RV or
wagon-training (each of us in our own rig).
I have
been traveling in a recreational vehicle much of my life. My parents
had a towed trailer when I was a child, and I have owned both Class C
and Class A self-contained vehicles. I carefully structure my trips,
using books and the internet to research and plan my travels across the
continent. Then I happily diverge from my itinerary when I spot
something interesting along the way.
